(d) Orissa (now Odisha) is the largest manganese producer in India. India is the world’s fifth largest producer of manganese ore after Brazil, Gabon, South Africa and Australia. More than 99 percent of India’s manganese ore is produced by Odisha, Maharashtra,Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Odisha and Maharashtra produce more than half of India s manganese ore.
