Network media refers to the communication channels used to interconnect nodes on a computer network. Typical examples of network media include copper coaxial cable (specially engineered with a metal shield and other components to block signal interference in cable television), copper twisted pair wire (normal electrical wire) and optical fibre cables (cables made out of strands of glass fibres inside an insulated casing designed for long distance, very high-performance data networking and telecommunications).
