The teacher’s first and foremost duty is to provide moral support and encouragement to learners so that they proceed towards achievement of learning goals. Absence of support or encouragement often deters learners from trying, or leads them astray. Remedial help may be required at a later stage when some learning deficiency is detected. Awareness about adequate performance or avoidance of pitfalls and dangers is of secondary importance.
