What is the largest number when subtracted from 4000 is divisible by 7. 11 and 13?

Solution:

The smallest number divisible by 7, 11, 13 = LCM (7,11,13)

= 7×11×13 = 1,001

Let X be the largest number when subtracted from 4,000, the result being divisible by

7,11, 13. 4,000 -X = 1,001

X = 4,000-1,001 = 2,999
