Rs. 4600 is divided among A. B and C such that the ratio o f A ’s to B ’s share is 2 : 1 while that o f B ’s to C ’s share is 6 : 5. Then how much did B got?

Solution:

Let the shares of A, B and C be a, b and c respectively.
Given

a : b = 2 : 1

and

b : c = 6 : 5

⇒a : b : c = 12 : 6 : 5

∴ b =\;{6}/{12+6+5} × 4,600=₹ 1,200
