What is the volume of a cube (in cu.cm) whose total surface area is 384 sq. cms?

Solution:

For a cube of side a units, the total surface area and the volume of a cube are

6a^2

and

a^3

respectively.
Given

6 a^{2}=384 cm ^{2} ⇒ a=8 cm

Hence,

a^{3}=8^{3}=512 cm ^{3}
