If

then

√{x}=√{5-2 √{6}}=√{3}-√{2}

and

\;{1}/{√{x}}={1}/{√{3}-√{2}}={1}/{√{3}-√{2}}×{√{3}+√{2}}/{√{3}+√{2}}=√{3}+√{2}

Hence

√{x}-\;{1}/{√{x}}=(√{3}-√{2})-(√{3}+√{2})

=-2√2
