20 men can do a piece of work in 10 days working 6 hours a day. How many men are needed to complete double the work in 8 days working 10 hours a day?

Solution:

Let number of men working, number of days of taken, number of hours worked per day and the total work be m, d, h and w respectively

⇒ \;{m × d × h}/{w}=

Constant
Hence,

{20 × 10 × 6}/{1 W}={m × 8 × 10}/{2 W}

⇒m={20 × 10 × 6 × 2}/{8 × 10}=30
