He again turns left and travels 5 times the distance he covered between A and B and reaches his destination D. The shortest distance between his departure point and destination?

From the given information the path is as follows:

The shortest distance between A and D is

A D=√{(A O)^{2}+(O D)^{2}}=√{(12)^{2}+(9)^{2}}

=√{144+81}=√{225}

A D=15 km
