6/{x+y} + 15/{x-y}

and

10/{x+y} - 9/{x-y=}

= 2 then 3x +2y =

Solution:

Given

6/{x+y} + 15/{x-y}=8

and

10/{x+y} - 9/{x-y=}=2

Let

1/(x + y) = A

and

1/(x- y) = B

Hence

6A + 15B = 8

and

10A-9B = 2

Solving we get A = 1/2 and B = 1/3

x + y = 2

and

x -y = 3

Hence

x = 2.5

and

y = -0.5

Required answer

3x + 2y

= 3(2.5) +2(-0.5) = 6{1/2}
