The sides of a rectangular plot of land are in the ratio 2:3 and its area is 29400 sq meters. The cost (in rupees) ot the putting up a tence around the plot at the rate of Rs. 50 per meter is?

Solution:

Let the two adjacent sides of the rectangular plot be 2a and 3a respectively.
Given Area of rectangle

= 2a × 3a = 29400m^2

⇒a=70m

The cost of fencing the plot at a rate of Rs 50 per meter

=50×2(2a+3a)=500a

=500×70=₹35000
