The centroid of a triangle is (0, -3). If two of the vertices of the triangle are (-1 ,4 ) and (5,2), then the third vertex is :

Solution:

Let the co-ordinate of the third vertex be (x, y)

\;\;{x-1+5}/{3}=0⇒x=-4

\;\;{y+4+2}/{3}=-3⇒y=-15

∴(x,y)=(-4,-15)
