Note : In a code the

n^{th}

letter in the English alphabet is coded as the

r^{th}

letter of it, where r is the remainder when 3n + 2 is divided by 26. For example, the 7th letter G is coded as W since 3.7 + 2 = 23 and W is the 23rd letter; the 8th letter H is coded as Z since 3.8 + 2 = 26 and Z is the 26th letter in the alphabet. The equation of a line passing through the point (-2, 3) and making intercepts in the ratio of 2 : 3 on the x and y axes is

3x - 2y + 12 = 0
3x + 2y - 12 = 0
2x + 3y + 12 = 0
2x - 3y - 12 = 0

Given :

,the solution is not possible.
The given answer choice (2) taking the ratio

(+2/3)

i.e the line

3x+2y–12=0

does not pass through the point (–2,3). Instead the point should be (2,3).
Taking

\text "x-intercept"/\text "y-intercept"=-2/3

we can write the equation of line as

x/{2k}-y/{3k}=1⇒3x-2y=6k

Since it passes through (–2,3), we get

3(–2)–2(3)=6k⇒=–2

∴ Required equation of line is

3x–2y+12=0
