Let

p/q

be the rational number.

∴{p-1}/q=1/2⇒2p-q=2

...(i)
Also,

p/{q-1}=3/5⇒5p-3q=-3

....(ii)
Solving (i) and (ii) we get p = 9 and q = 16

∴p/q=9/16
