Given : ${\mathit{a}}_{\mathit{n}}=\mathit{k}$, where k is the remainder when n is divided by 5.
${\mathit{a}}_1=\mathrm{Rem}\left(1÷5\right)=1,$
${\mathit{a}}_3=\mathrm{Rem}\left(3÷5\right)=3$
${\mathit{a}}_8=\mathrm{Rem}\left(8÷5\right)=3$
Similarly, ${\mathit{a}}_{12}=2,{\mathit{a}}_{13}=3,{\mathit{a}}_{17}=2$ and ${\mathit{a}}_{23}=3$
Thus, we have the observations as,1, 3, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3
The most frequently occurring observation is 3.
∴ Mode = 3
