Iron pyrite i.e., FeS2, it is also known as
Fool's-Gold.
It is not an ideal choice of ore for extraction of iron, because it produces polluting sulphur containing gases, e.g. SO2,SO3 etc. though it is thermodynamically feasible, stable and can be used in roasting process.
