Maxwell modified Ampere's circuital law by introducing displacement current (Id) as, he found an ambiguity in Ampere's circuital law for conduction current during charging of a conductor. Now, the modified Ampere's circuital law is given as,

Here, Ic is the conduction current and Id is the displacement current
