Solution:

Distance covered by the train leaving Station Y in 1 hour = 140 km
Remaining distance to be covered = 1,040 km
Time taken to cross each other =

{1040}/{260}

= 4 hours
Distance covered by the train from ‘X’ in 4
hours = 4 × 120 = 480 km.
So, they will cross each other at 480 km from X.
