Time taken against the current = 2 hour
Time taken along the current = 1 hour
Ratio of time taken = 1 : 2
Ratio of speeds = 2 : 1
Let the speed of the boat and the current = x and y respectively
Downstream speed = 2 = x + y
Upstream speed = 1 = x - y
