A person has to cover a distance of 6 km in 45 minutes. If he covers one-half of the distance in two thirds of the total time. Find his speed (in km/hr) to cover the remaining distance in remaining time.

Validate

Solution:

One half of the distance =

1/2 × 6

km = 3 km
Two-thirds of the total time =

2/3 × 45

= 30 min
Remaining distance = 6 – 3 = 3 km; Remaining time = 45 – 30 = 15 min
Hence, required speed =

3/{{15}/{60}}

= 3 × 4 = 12 km/hr
