Clause 9 of the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013 states that

The violator of the provisions of clause 6 shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine which may extend to two lakh rupees or with both
The violator of the provisions of clause 8 shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine which may extend to two lakh rupees or with both
