If 13 years are reduced from Rakesh's present age and the remainder is divided by 20, then his granddaughter Akhila's present age is attained. If Akhila's age is 4 years less than the age of Mohan, whose age is 8 years, then how old is Rakesh?

Solution:

Mohan's age = 8 years
Let,Rakesh's present age

= x

Akhila's present age

= y

According to Question,

{x-13}/20=y

....(1)
and,

y + 4 = 8

y = 4 \years

----(2)
Substituting value of y in (1)

{x-13}/20=4

⇒x - 13 = 80

x = 93

∴ Rakesh's present age = 93 years
