Solution:

Calculation of

\V _{{\th }}

Apply KCL in the loop

20-3 \I -6 \I +10=0

\I =(20+10) /(3+6)

=30 / 9

\V _{6 \Ω}=(30 / 9) ×6

=20 \V

Now apply KCL in the outer loop

-10+ \V _{6 \Ω}- \V _{ \ab }=0

\V _{ \ab }= \V _{{\th }}=(20-10) \V = 1 0 \V
