(3) Suppose the number of 25paise coins = xTherefore, the number of 50paise coins = 40 – xAccording to question,25 × x + 50 × (40 – x) = 1275
⇒25 x + 2000 – 50x = 1275
⇒ 25 x = 2000 – 1275
⇒ 25 x = 725
∴ x =

= 29Number of 50 paise coins
= 40 – x
= 40 – 29 = 11
