(1) The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana(MSY) was launched on 2October, 1993 with the objectiveof empowering the ruralwomen through building thrift(saving) habit, self-reliance andconfidence. Under it, ruralwomen of 18 years of above agecan open their saving accountin the rural post office of theirown area with a minimum Rs.4 or its multiplier.
