After 9 years
Age of P = 45 + 9 = 54 years
Age of Q = x + 9 years
According to question
$\frac{54}{\mathit{x}}+9=\frac{6}{7}$
⇒ 6 (x + 9) = 54 × 7
⇒ 6x + 54 = 378
⇒ 6x = 378 – 54
∴$\mathit{x}=\frac{324}{6}=54\mathit{y}\mathit{e}\mathit{a}\mathit{r}\mathit{s}$
