The average age of 9 men = 45 years
⇒ Total age of 9 men = 45 × 9 = 405 years ---- (1)
⇒ The average age of 9 men and one woman = 44 years
⇒ Total age of 9 men and one woman = 44 × 10 = 440 years ---- (2)
From (1) and (2),
⇒ Age of woman = 440 – 405 = 35 years
∴ The age of the woman is 35 years.
