Average of a, b and c = 9
⇒ (a + b + c)/3 = 9
⇒ a + b + c = 27 ---- (1)
Average of b and c = 10
⇒ b + c = 20 ---- (2)
From (1) – (2),
⇒ a = 7
∴ The value of a is 7.
