Given equation: 3 + 4 - 6 ÷ 2 = 7
1) 6 and 2
After interchanging ‘6 and 2’, we get
L.H.S = 3 + 4 - 2 ÷ 6
= 3 + 4 - 0.33
= 7 - 0.33
= 6.67 ≠ R.H.S
2) 3 and 6
After interchanging ‘3 and 6’, we get
L.H.S = 6 + 4 - 3 ÷ 2
= 6 + 4 - 1.5
= 10 - 1.5
= 8.5 ≠ R.H.S
3) 2 and 3
After interchanging ‘2 and 3’, we get
L.H.S = 2 + 4 - 6 ÷ 3
= 2 + 4 - 2
= 6 - 2
= 4 ≠ R.H.S
4) 6 and 4
After interchanging ‘6 and 4’, we get:
L.H.S = 3 + 6 - 4 ÷ 2
= 3 + 6 - 2
= 9 - 2
= 7 = R.H.S
Hence, ‘6 and 4’ are the two numbers that needs to be interchanged to make the following equation correct.
