Solution:

According to Continuity Equation

{A}_{1} {V}_{1}={A}_{2} {V}_{2}

Given -

d_{1}=30 {cm}=0.3 {m}

{d}_{2}=20 {cm}=0.2 {m}

{V}_{1}=2 {m} \/ {s}

{V}_{2}=?

We know as it is a pipe hence cross-sectional area

{A}={\π}/{4} \×{d}^{2}

Put the values in the equation

{\π}/{4} {d}_{1}^{2} \×{V}_{1}={\π}/{4} {d}_{2}^{2} \×{V}_{2}

{\π}/{4} \×(0.3^{2}) \×2={\π}/{4} \×(0.2^{2}) \×{V}_{2}

{V}_{2}=4.5 {m} \/ {s}
