The motion of a body in x-y plane is represented by x = 4 – 9t and

y = t^2

where x, y are in metre. Find the magnitude of its absolute velocity at t = 6 sec.

Solution:

At t = 6 sec
x = 4 – 9t

v_x

= dx/dt = -9

{y}={t}^{2}

{v}_{{y}}={dy} \/ {dt}=2 {t}=2(6)=12

{V}=\√{(-9)^{2}+(12)^{2}}

=\√{225}=15 {m} \/ {s}
