Solution:

From the steady flow energy equation for nozzel

h_1+{1v_1^2}/{2×1000}=h_2+{v_2^2}/{2×100}

v_1<<< v_2

h_1-h_2={v_2^2}/2000∵v^2=40

m / s

=(40)^2/2000

h_1-h_2=0.8
