Kinetic energy associated with circular disc

\V_\KE=1/2\MV^2

Rotational energy associated with circular disc

\V_\RE=1/2\Iω^2

For circular disc

I =1/2MR^2

and

V=Rω

∴\V_\RE=1/4MV^2

Hence,

={0.25MV^2}/{0.5MV^2+0.25MV^2}=1/3
