. Determine the induced e.m.f when the machine acts as motor.

Given data,
V = 200 v

R_a = 0.5 Ω

I_a = 20 A

E =?
Now,

E = V – I_a R_a

= 200 – 20 × 0.5

= 200 – 10

∴

E = 190 V
