Determine the resonant frequency (in kHz) of a tank circuit, when the capacitance and inductance of the circuit is 0.08 mF and 0.08 mH respectively.

Solution:

F_r = ?

C = 0.08 mf

⇒ 0.08 ×10^{–3} F

and L = 0.08 mH

⇒ 0.08 × 10^{–3} H

Now for tank circuit,
resonant frequency

F_r=1/{2π√{LC}}

=1/{2×3.14×√{0.08×10^{-3}×0.08×10^{-3}}}

=1/{2×3.14×0.08×10^{-3}}

F_r= 2 kHz
