The overall power factor of transformer depend on the power factor of load. It the connected load is purely resistive it is said to unity power factor. Ex- Incondescent bulbs, Heater coil. It the connected load is capacitive it is said to be heading power factor Ex- Rectifiers, CFL. If the connected load is inductive it is said to be lagging power factor Ex- Motor fan.
