Determine the quality factor for Maxwell’s inductance-capacitance bridge given below when the bridge is supplied by a frequency of 50 Hz.

Solution:

Give f = 50Hz
R = 60Ω
C = 20µf
Now Quality factor of L–C bridge is given by
Q = ωRC
⇒ Q = 2πfRC [∵ ω = 2πf]
⇒ Q = 2 × 3.14 × 50 × 60 × 20 × 10

⇒ Q ≈ 0.4
