What will be the value of capacitive reactance (in ohms) of a circuit, if it is supplied with 25 Hz supply, if the capacitive reactance of the circuit is 30 Ohms, when it is supplied with a 100 Hz supply?

Given data

f_1 = 25

Hz and

f_2 = 100

Hz
Now at

f_1 = 25

Hz,

X_c=1/{2πfC}

=1/{2×3.14×25×53×10^{-6}}

∴X_c=120\Ω

f_2=100\Hz

X_c=1/{2πfC}

∴C=1/{2πfX_c}=1/{628×30}=53µf
