Air friction damping is employed in electrodynamoneter. To avoid air friction damping, a pair of aluminium vane is attached to the spindle at the bottom. Magnetic field produce by fixed coils are very week because of air cored coil. Therefore a introduction of eddy current will distort the main magnetic field so Eddy current damping not use in dynamometer.
