Permanent Magnet is made of hardened Steel because iron nickel. Soft Steel are soft magnetic material. The soft magnetic material can be simply magnetised and demagnetised. But hard magnet like hardened Steel, Alnico, Nickel iron Alloy are Remain Magnetised after removal of magnetic Field.
