Pitch factor is the ratio between the winding pitch and pole pitch. Pitch factor = winding pitch/pole pitch In case of full pitch winding, the winding pitch is equal the pole pitch. In other words, for a full pitch winding the full pitch factor is equal to unity and the winding is known as "full pitch winding."
