A tension member undergoes elongation and can extend until it reaches its ultimate strength. As the tensile load reaches the ultimate load the member reaches a failure state. A member in tension can reach a failure state due to excessive elongation or by rupture of its section. Other then option(c) all are themode of failure in a tension member. But Local buckling is not of failure in a tension member.
