When ductile detailing is followed IS 456: 2000 Code recommends minimum beam width required for a reinforced concrete beam to be 200mm for 2 hours of fire exposure. Depth of beam should not be more than 1/4 of clear span of beam & width to depth ratio should preferably be more than 0.3.
