Solution:

As given, that
filtration rate = 4000 litres/hour/m

area of rapid filter = 20 m

^{2}

water filtration per hour = 4000 × 20
= 80000 l/h
Now, filtration per day = 80000 × 24 l/day
So, rate of demand = 80000 × 24/10000
= 192 l/h
= 192/1.5
= 128 l/head/day
