Solution:

Given Dimensions: b = 20 mm, d = 200 mm
Moment = 10000 kN-mm = 10000 × 103 N-mm
We know permissible bending stress in welded connection

= 165\N\/\m^2

Section Modulus of Butt weld

({\Z})=({\b} × {\d}^{2}) / 6

=(20 × 200^{2}) / 6

=133.333 × 10^{3} {\mm}^{3}

We know
Bending Stress

={\M} / {\Z}

=10000 ×10^{3} / 133.33 × 10^{3}
