Solution:

Beam we require:-
Bottom = 2 × 0.4 = 0.8
Sides = 2 × 1 × 2 × 0.2 = 0.8
Ends = 2 × 1 × 0.4 × 0.2 = 0.16
Total requirements = 0.16 + 0.8 + 0.8 = 1.76 ≈ 2m
