Solution:

Given
7x = 8k ...(i)
5y = 6k (ii)
Divide equation (i) by (ii), we get

{7x}/{5y}={8k}/{6k}=4/3

x/y={4×5}/{3×7}=20/21

So, the value of ratio x is to y is 20 : 21.
