Foresight : It is the last reading taken after from any instrument station after which instrument shall be shifted to new position or reading is taken at the end of survey work. Back sight : It is the first reading taken after setting up an instrument or any change point. Intermediate sight: All other readings except foresight and back sight is called as intermediate sight.
