(1) Ten biosphere reserves of India,namely Nilgiri, Nanda Devi,Sunderban, Gulf of Mannar,Nokrek, Pachmarhi, Simlipal,Achanakmar-Amarkantak, NicobarIslands and Agasthyamalai, havebeen recognised by UNESCO aspart of the World Network ofBiosphere Reserves in the Asia-Pacific region.
