A shopkeeper mixes two varieties of sugar costing ₹28/kg and ₹38/kg. In what ratio should he mix the two different varieties so that he can sell it at ` 36/kg and make a profit of 20%?

(2) Given that the selling price ofthe sugar mixture = ₹36/kgincluding 20% profitLet the cost price of sugar mixture

= ₹x/kg

According to the question,

x + 20% of x = 36

x = ₹30/kg
Now, we can calculate the ratio ofmixing two varieties of sugar byalligation formula as:

n_1/n_2= (38 – 30)/(30 – 28)= 8/2= 4 : 1
